What is a Study Session?

  • A Study Session is 6-10 students and a leader who meet twice a week for an hour throughout the quarter. Regular attendance is expected.
  • During the session, students get help with course content and solve problems. They may work individually, in pairs, or in small groups.

Regular Attendance = Better Grade!

What are the Target Classes?

Study Sessions are focused on 38 lower division classes drawn from the College of Science and Mathematics and the College of Engineering.

  • CE 204, 207
  • CHEM 124, 127, 316
  • CPE 101
  • MATH 116, 118, 141, 142, 143, 241, 244

Session Formation

Two weeks before the beginning of a quarter, all students enrolled in the target classes receive an email describing the program and how to make a request. Requests are accepted until the end of the 6th week of classes.

As soon as a leader and four requests can be matched a group is formed, and it continues to meet until the last week of classes.
