Welcome to the Disability Resource Center!

The mission of the Disability Resource Center(DRC) is to assist in creating an accessible university community where students with disabilities have an equal opportunity to fully participate in all aspects of the educational environment. We cooperate through partnerships with students, faculty, and staff to cultivate student learning and success.

The DRC has established Student Learning Outcomes, the desired knowledge, skills or attitudes that students can acquire through their interactions with our department, and which are tied to student development in college.

Currently enrolled students, or students who have been accepted and plan to attend Cal Poly, may visit How to Apply for DRC Services for information about the application steps. To ensure the timeliness of services, it is important to begin the process as soon as possible. Implementation of services may be delayed for students waiting until arrival on campus to begin the intake process.

Upcoming Events:

The DRC strongly encourages incoming students to participate in SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising & Registration). Students having completed Steps 1 and 2 in the DRC application process can move to Step 3 by scheduling their intake appointment at the time that they come for SOAR. By planning in advance, students are more likely to have their accommodations in place when classes begin in the fall.

DRC’s activities during SOAR include:

  • Meeting with students 1-1 for scheduled intake appointments
  • Daily drop-in hours (10-noon for Freshmen)--(12:30-2:30 for Transfer Students)
  • An information booth at the Resource Fair
  • A stop on the student Campus Resource Tours
  • Parent Panels
