Request a Note-Taker

To Request Service:

Students sitting in classroom

Step 1: Complete and submit the Note-Taking Quarterly Request Form. Have your schedule on hand; this way all of your information is complete and accurate. Request a Note-Taker for each course as soon as you determine one is needed.

Step 2: Check your Cal Poly e-mail. DRC sends an e-mail to students in your class with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. DRC will forward the names of students who volunteer to be your note-taker.

Step 3: Select your Note-Taker. Choose someone from the list provided by DRC or choose a student in your class you know is willing to be a note-taker.

Step 4: Contact the Note-Taker you've selected. Make delivery arrangements for the acquisition of notes.

Step 5: Refer your Note-Taker to the DRC. Tell your Note-Taker to go to the DRC (Bldg. 124, Room 119) to complete the Human Resource paperwork necessary for employment. Note-Takers earn a stipend of $50 per 3/4 unit class.

Step 6: If you have concerns, contact your Note-Taker. Try to work it out as soon as possible, and if problems persist, contact your Access Specialist.
