Want to Be a Note-Taker?
You have been asked to become a Note-Taker.
What do you do now?
- Reply to the student, telling him/her you would love to be a note-taker. What better way to improve your note-taking skills than to learn by doing; it's the Cal Poly way!
- Come down to the Disability Resource Center (DRC)-- Student Services Building #124-- and fill out a few forms:
- Complete the note-taker contract and information sheet.
- Read and sign the note-taking information sheet.
- Fill out the payroll SERF form; take the SERF form and your original Social Security Card to the Payroll Office (you will only have to do this part once in your entire college career.)
- The DRC will give you a copy code which is good at the copy machine in the UU by the Information Booth and in the Library by Pony Prints. You can also come to the DRC and use the copy machine in the lobby.
- Make arrangements with the DRC student to exchange notes. Exchanging notes can be done any way you and the DRC student desire (i.e. drop them off at the UU, the Library, or the DRC, scan them and email, type them and either print or email...)
Remember, you can help others and yourself – it is a win/win situation. Oh, you also get paid $50 for a lecture class and $25 for a lab, so really it’s a win/win/win!
