Cal Poly's Summer Institute (SI) is an academic orientation program held annually for newly admitted freshmen. SI is geared at helping students make a successful transition from high school to college.
Study Session provides qualified peer facilitators to lead bi-weekly discussion groups for 39 lower division classes focused in biology, chemistry, civil and mechanical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, physics and statistics.
Upward Bound (UB) provides fundamental support to local low-income, first generation college bound high school students. Each summer, UB offers these students the unique opportunity to have a six-week “college experience” on the Cal Poly campus. Students will participate in residential life, campus dining, extracurricular activities, and class work to prepare them for their upcoming year of high school. Summer Academy 2018 dates are June 18 - July 26.
